Hany Abu Assad

Hany Abu Assad started off an airplane engineer in the Netherlands before moving to films. He is the director behind PARADISE NOW (Golden Globe Award for Best Foreign Language Film), which was the opening film at DIFF 2005 and Palestine’s first Academy Award nomination for Best Foreign Film. He has also had an international hit with his first feature RANA’S WEDDING (2002), which was selected for the Critics Week at Cannes. His latest film OMAR received the jury prize (Un Certain Regard) at Cannes 2013. Attending the Dubai Film Market with a project in the Dubai Film Connection co-production market 9th, 10th, 11th December.
