Buddhadeb Dasgupta

Many critics consider Buddhadev Dasgupta to be one of India’s foremost directors today. Dasgupta is a seven-time winner of the Golden Lotus National Awards for Best Film and Best Director. His film BAGH BAHADUR was certified as an Outstanding Film at Cannes. GRIHAJUDDHA won the Fipresci Award in Venice and UTTARA won the Best Director Award in Venice. Eight of his films have been selected for the Berlinale, the most for any director at the festival.
