Nouri Bouzid
NOURI BOUZID was born in 1945 in Sfax, Tunisia
and studied cinema at INSAS, Brussels. After working
as an assistant director from 1979 to 1984. His
previous films as writer-director have won numerous
international awards; they are L’Homme de cendre
(1986), Les Sabots en or (1989), Beznes (1992), Bent
Familia (1997) and Poupées d’argile (2001). He has
written feature screenplays for several other directors,
including four for Moufida Tlatli, and was awarded
the Presidential Prize of Cinema in Tunisia in 1998.
