Synopsis
It is towards the end of the Communist era in a small town in Romania. A young student, Gabita (Laura Vasiliu), decides she will terminate her unwanted pregnancy, an illegal act in Romania at the time. With her loyal friend, Otilia (Anamaria Marinca), she decides to have a back-street abortion, helped by a black-market practitioner, a man - for the only price they can afford to pay.
