Synopsis
Through the lives of Bouba, a video-club operator, Abbo, a letter writer, and Jules Cesar, a djembe-maker, who sees the skin-covered hand drum as being the big brother of cinema, Jean-Marie Teno turns this portrait of the Ouagadougou neighbourhood into a deeper introspection on his craft as a filmmaker, as well as a personal reflection on art, popular culture, and business in Africa today.
