A contemporary Christmas tale, Millions is the latest from ultra-versatile British director Danny Boyle, who brings his usual verve and gusto to this charming comic fantasy. Seven-year-old dreamer Damien, brilliantly played by Alex Etel, comes across a bag stuffed full of bank notes; in cahoots with his brother, he decides to keep the money-and attempts to give it away to the poor. Trouble looms when the boys realize that Britain is about to join the Euro: they only have a few days to spend (or change) the money. Meanwhile, the 'rightful' owner of the cash makes a menacing appearance… shot in the primary colors of an IKEA showroom, with plenty of zany visual effects, Millions is a delight for both children and adults.
