A FEW HOURS OF SPRING
Cinema of the World
Synopsis
This study of a mother and son is, ultimately, an incredibly moving portrait of the love and pain integral to so many lives and relationships. Alain Evrard returns from prison to his estranged mother's home. This forced cohabitation brings back all the violence of their past relationship and he moves in with a neigbour. But then a staggering revelation makes him realise that she needs his support. Stéphane Brize’s delicate script and direction is wonderfully realised by Vincent Lindon and Hélène Vincent.
