Synopsis

Many years ago, Joy Mathew, the director of SHUTTER, came to Dubai as a migrant worker with only a few rupees in his wallet. Unlike his main protagonist, he returned to his home in Kerala for good - where he developed cult status as an actor, writer, theatre director and political activist. He took his own manifold experiences to make this film - a sharp and poignant satire on the Gulf experience’s influence on contemporary Kerala society.
