Synopsis

Using religious grounds, Chairman Amin bans every kind of image in his village in rural Bangladesh. The ban on television, and even mobile phones, proves a challenge for the community, particularly its younger members. The Chairman is faced with revolt and the town becomes bitterly divided. A stirring reflection on modernity and tradition in the age of mass media, TELEVISION uses humour, romance and drama to deliver a powerful message.
