THE FIRST MAN
Arabian Nights
Synopsis
August, 1957. As the war for Algeria’s independence sets communities at each other’s throats and turns friends into enemies, prominent novelist Jacques Cormery arrives to visit his aging mother. Confronted by the bitter divisions in the country, he recalls the happier times of his formative years, and the family and friends who shaped his life as a writer and as a man. Loyal to his past, he wants to reconcile and help those who share his attachment to his homeland, but have radically different visions for its future?
