A DOOMED GENERATION

Arabian Nights
Tunisia / 2013 / Arabic and French dialogue with English subtitles / Colour / Digital File / 61 minutes

Synopsis

Through the testimonies of five bloggers, jailed a few days before the 14 January Tunisian revolution, A DOOMED GENERATION provides an account of the struggle that cyber-dissidents faced against Ben Ali’s censorship. The film traces their mobilisation through the web and the influence they have over social networks. It is also a report of the disillusionment of the Tunisian youth, who have been deprived of their aspirations for freedom and democracy.
