Stefano Tealdi

Stefano Tealdi. Born 1955 in South Africa, he graduates in architecture at the Politecnico di Torino, Italy. Establishes prodco Stefilm which develops, produces and directs documentary features and series. Recently: Vinylmania (Rotterdam 2012), the Global Food and Global Drinks series, the Food Markets, In the Belly of the City series and Char, no man’s island (Berlinale Forum 2013). EAVE graduate and European Documentary Network chair, he now directs Documentary in Europe. He tutors for Biennale College Cinema, Cannes Film Festival, Documentary Campus, EDN, ESoDoc, Media Business School, Med Film Factory, Scuola Holden, Films des 3Continents, Torino Film Lab, Zelig.

Julie Bergeron

At the Marché du Film – Festival de Cannes, Julie Bergeron is the Manager of Industry Programs. She is in charge of the Producers Network since its creation in 2004, of the Producers Workshop since 2010 and of the Doc Corner at the Marché du Film. A member of the Quebec Bar Association, she practiced law in well-established law firms in Montreal before moving to Paris in 1998. She then worked as Deputy Manager of the European office of Telefilm Canada in Paris until she created Vision-in-Motion in 2001. Vision-in-Motion is a Paris-based multi-faceted company producing events for the film industry. Vision-in-Motion is organizing Cinéma du Québec in Paris and its Rencontres de Coproduction Francophone and involved in the creation and organization of Frontières, a co-production market for genre films, taking place twice a year, in Montreal at Fantasia and in Brussels at the Brussels international fantastic film festival, amongst others. Julie is also the Manager of International Projects at Ventana Sur, the Latin American Film Market in Buenos Aires. She is regularly invited by international film festivals as a consultant and matchmaker.

Farida Fdani

Farida Fdani has been working in the film production sector for 25 years. She started out working with director François Reichenbach and producer Pierre Braunberger. Her various activities led her to work in production, video marketing, theatrical distribution, and international film sales. She has worked on several feature film scripts as a consultant for authors and producers. In 2000, she produced Zona Arizona, a documentary directed by Goran Neric. In 2004, with Blue Eye Films, she launched the production of a feature film entitled Souli, by young British director Alexander Abela, starring: Eduardo Noriega, Aurélien Recoing, Makéna Diop, Fatou Diaye, and Jeanne Antébi. In 2006, she developed Zarafah, a feature-length animation film written by Rémi Besançon and Alexander Abela for Blue Eye Films. She set up financing with a tripartite co-production between Canada, England and France. Recently, she developed the adaptation of George Feydeau’s play, “A flea in the ear,” written by Henri Duparc. In 2007, Farida created her own production company, New Tree Productions and is developing several projects and actually developing its sales department

Sarah Calderon

The Film Agency is a marketing consultancy service specialized in the film industry. Clients include Avalon Productions, Entre Chien et Loup, Morena Films, Neueroad Movies, Ridley Scott Associates and The Match Factory. The agency manages as well the marketing strategy of the distribution innovation project The TIDE Experiment.

The agency director is Sarah Calderón who holds a major in advertising at the PUJ of Bogotá and a Master degree in Multicultural Communication at the CELSA Sorbonne IV in Paris. She has more than ten years of work experience in the audiovisual sector in different positions including: Head of International Sales at Coproduction Office – Paris, and distributor coordinator at Karma Films – Madrid. In parallel to The Film Agency she works as marketing tutor and consultant for EAVE, Europa Distribution and several Media Desks.

Karen Adler

Karen Adler is an international expert on film financing and operates through her structure Les films de Ka. She’s also a shareholder and founder of TALENTBOX, a talent agency and entertainment group. Karen Adler has worked as Paramount Pictures’s France Director of acquisitions and co-productions. She was hired by numerous production companies such as PATHE, GAUMONT, GEDEON, ALLIANCE, CANAL PLUS, from development as a script doctor to field work as line producer and finally as Executive Producer. Karen has organized and participated in several workshops in Europe and North America as an expert consultant. She has been hired by organizations, festivals and at various film financing and production events such as The Cannes Producer’s Network, IFP New-York NoBorders, Rotterdam’s Cinemart, the European MEDIA program, Fondation Gan, Paris Project, UniJapan’s J-Pitch to imagine concrete initiative aimed at producers to encourage international co-production opportunities. Karen has developed ongoing relationships with talent agencies, advertising agencies, luxury brands, financiers and international distributors and her expertise includes the identification and leveraging of new sources of financing and market opportunities as well as the creative selection of features with local and international potential. She has participated in various capacity in the financing of more than 100 films and entertainment projects. Karen is fluent in French, English and German. She has gained both a Post-graduate Diploma in Business and Law in the Entertainment Industry at the University of Paris I, La Sorbonne and a MA in Literature at the University of Paris IV, La Sorbonne

Mary Davies

UK project  co-director of the Cross Channel Film Lab, a European-funded script development workshop programme linking screenwriters in the UK and France with experts and researchers in the fields of visual effects and stereo 3D. Buyers and Sellers facilitator, BFI London Film Festival 2010 - 2013, organising the Buyers and Sellers screenings programme and Meet the Buyer event.  Film acquisitions consultant for Japanese pay TV channel Cinefil-Imagica 1996 - 2011, acquiring around 250 world cinema features.  Industry consultant to Edinburgh International Film Festival, overseeing EIFF's industry services, 1997 -  2009.  Industry consultant at Dubai International Film Festival since 2008, and International Film Festival Rotterdam since 2000.  Withoutabox.com (film festival submissions platform) account executive for Europe, Middle East and Africa 1995 - 2011.  Former world sales agent with Jane Balfour Films and BFI Production in the UK, working with directors such as Tom Tykwer, D.A. Pennebaker, Derek Jarman and Terence Davies.  Experience of independent film includes festivals, development, production and distribution.  Also working as script and development consultant in the UK.  Consulting specialty: Festivals, sales, development, production and distribution.

Tom Davia

Director of Festivals & Alternative Theatrical Distribution for L.A.-based Shoreline Entertainment, has worked for over 15 years within the entertainment industry and on the film festival circuit. Considered an expert on film sales, acquisitions, and festival strategies, programming, and management, Tom not only understands what makes a good, sellable film, but also knows which films really work at fests and how to best deliver cutting-edge cinematic content to the international marketplace. A "global nomad" raised by diplomat parents all over this world, he brings a multinational focus and sensibility to his work, and enthusiastically believes that film is a universal language for all peoples.
