Quelques Miettes Pour Les Oiseaux

France & Jordan/2005/Arabic dialogue with English subtitles/Colour/35mm/29 mins.

This is a documentary portrait of Ruwayshed, the last village in Jordan before the border with Iraq, situated in a desert of black rock.

Co-directors Nassim Amaouche and Annemarie Jacir arrived in the village with no definite scenario in mind, but were inspired by a song by an Iraqi-Palestinian band to produce a montage of images and conversations with people working in Ruwayshed, including diesel vendors and teenage girls serving in a hotel bar.

The film has won awards at festivals in Montpellier and Clermont-Ferrand. It contains strong language.
