Until 9/11, Yasin Zaki, 10, lived an ordinary life with his Jordanian-born parents in Southern California. After the attack, the FBI arrests his father in a terrifying early morning raid. Yasin’s misfortunes are compounded when he is tormented at school. He is increasingly unable to cope. Finally, Yasin and his mother visit his father in jail. Half-believing the accusations of “terrorist”, he must decide whether or not to believe in his father.

BETTY LEE KIM was born in Chico, California, to Korean immigrant parents, and grew up in New York City and New Jersey. She holds a BFA in painting and an MFA in Fiction, both from Cornell University. As a graduate student at USC’s School of Cinema–Television she was awarded the James Bridges Scholarship for her work on Yasin.
