The Gypsy Caravan in this exuberant documentary is made up of five different Gypsy bands, from different corners of the globe. They embark on a six-week tour of North America, delighting audiences with programmes ranging from Flamenco to brass, from Romanian violin music to Indian folk. They begin as strangers to one another – connected only by their common Roma history. Throughout the long tour, the musicians begin to share instruments, exchange family customs, play jokes on one another, and finally part with profound sadness.

JASMINE DELLAL spent much of her childhood in India. She studied French and Spanish at Oxford University, and earned an MA in Journalism from UC Berkely. She began her documentary career as director, producer, writer and editor of the award-winning American Gypsy: A Stranger in Everybody’s Land and won a student Emmy for In His Own Image. Now focused on making artistic films with a social conscience, she founded and now runs Little Dust Productions.
